Default Would you buy it?

I've heard all of this talk of a price war and of course Wal-Mart is in the middle of it. What do you think of their claim that you can do a turkey dinner for eight for as low as $20
According to a survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation, last year’s average cost of a turkey was roughly This is what a Walmart $20 Thanksgiving feast includes:

* One 12-pound Grade A turkey*
* Three 11 to 15.5-ounce cans Green Giant vegetables
* Two 14-ounce cans Ocean Spray cranberry sauce
* Three 6-ounce boxes of Stove Top stuffing
* One 5-pound bag of red potatoes
* One 12-count package of Sara Lee dinner rolls
* One 22-ounce pumpkin roll cake

I'm sorry. Maybe my family eats too much, but I don't think a 12 pound turkey and 5 lb bag of potatoes will feed eight people. I don't buy it.

No thanks. Part of the fun of Thanksgiving for me is trying out new recipes and the classic homemade meals. I don't want a meal from a box for Thanksgiving.

Default Money

I know times are tough and for families every dollar counts,
BUT not everything is about money. I do not make all my purchases because they cheaper!
When did it all come down to price- there are more important things.

I am sure it would be a good value for someone who doesn't really know how/like to cook and doesn't really have anyone to help them but for me....no thanks. Part of the fun of the holidays is all the cooking. I look forward to my mom's homemade dressing every year. Not going to eat stove top on Turkey Day. Or a store made cake/pie.

It is not for me, but I can see how it could really help people. Maybe new families without the traditions, or who are far away from the big family, or don't care as much. Might not be enough for 8 people, but it would do a family of 4 a meal and if your stuggling for money as so many people are a meal with leftovers, for 20 bucks could take a lot of stress out of the holiday.

CERTAINLY NOT FOR ME! ha ha ha... But I agree Carrie, for a family that doesn't have much and so many people out of work, I think it is good that any company would offer a reasonable option for a family meal.

Granted, I would love for the meal to not be a Turkey, or Food from a box for that matter, but that's just me
