My 2 year old has a persistent night time cough and I hated to give him any drugs on an ongoing basis so I was excited when I discovered Zarbees Children's Cough Syrup - it's basically honey with vitamin C, but I'd had no luck giving the boys a spoonful of honey. So I grabbed a bottle. It cost just over $7 which was a bit expensive, but I much prefer that over prolonged use of drugs for children. You can give it to your children every 4 hours (but it seemed to last through the night and they weren't congested in the morning. The only thing you have to be careful of is not to exceed 6 doses in 24 hours. It's good for ages 12 months and up, but not recommended for under 12 months. You can get it with the lemon or cherry flavoring, whichever your kids like!
![]() We've used it the last two nights and it works! Here's what it's good for: * Coughs caused by minor throat irritation * Night Coughing * Dry or scratchy throats * Immune system support * Hoarseness I found it in Food City in the pharmacy section, I'm not sure where else you can get it...

Which flavor? We got the cherry. My 2 year old puts up a fight on principal but the 5 year old has treated honey like a mortal enemy takes it no problem.

The Creator of ZarBees saw my review online and contacted me to offer a bottle for another mom to try. Post a comment in response to this post before 5pm EST today (11/9) and I'll pick a winner randomly using randomizer.org after 5pm today!
Here's some very interesting background to the product: We are a young company that started about 2 years ago with the sole goal to make a better cough syrup. Our inventor of ZarBee's is a practicing pediatrician, Dr. Zak Zarbock. He has 4 young boys and as a pediatrician he knew he could not give or recommend other cough syrups to children because they were unsafe and being banned by the FDA. So with some research done by Penn State that found that dark honeys were more effective at calming coughs and sore throats than Robitussin and Delsym, Dr. Zarbock set out to create the safest, most effective cough syrup on the market. We are currently in about 3000 stores nationally and hope to be in all major retailers within the next year. We have several mothers who have tried ZarBee's and just love that 1) It is safe and natural, with no active drugs or alcohol and 2) It works! It works much better than other cough syrups. I don't need the bottle so please don't include me in the generator thing-a-majig, but just wanted to say this is Awesome...
One, that there is a natural product that you found to work Ali, and two that they are offering a free bottle... Very cool indeed! Would be fun if more companies did such a thing.
