Need 20 Valentine’s By Friday? No problem!
A little bit of DIY goes a long way. Gather together some household basics, inexpensive baking and craft supplies to make these adorable Valentine’s Day Gifts for the whole class. Produced by Ali James
Surprise Boxes.
We love Inchmark Journal (http://inchmark.squarespace.com) for a spot of gorgeous crafty inspiration and couldn’t wait to decorate our own little surprise boxes. We bought co-ordinating scrapbook paper to suit our lovey dovey theme. Then we measured and cut out strips of varying sizes to wrap around the boxes. Your kids can even draw portraits of their classmates to further customize the paper sleeves. Fill with sweets and tie shut with pretty baking twine.
You’re Beary Sweet!
Fill up a small poly bag with Teddy Grahams and Gummy Bears. Tie shut with ribbon and add either a gift tag or cut out pretty patterned scrapbook paper for labels.
Passion Pops
Pop marshmallows on a lollipop stick, dip in melted chocolate candies or chocolate chips then sprinkle red, white and pink sprinkles. (Lollipop wrapping just $1.99 for 18 bags, twist ties and sticks)
Sweet Treat Shop
Draw a little person, shop front and Valentine’s Day message (even better if the kids do it) on a small brown paper sack. Fill it with candy or healthy snacks and top with a little striped awning made out of card stock.
Putty in my Hands
Mix up play clay at a moment’s notice using some flour, salt and water. Add a few splashes of food dye for color. Press out hearts using a cookie cutter and slide into little poly or sandwich bags. Then tie a special message around the top. Find great recipes at www.simplymoms.com/art/playdoh.html including one for Edible Play Dough!
