A.K. Bissell Park
About: Located at the Oak Ridge Civic Center, A.K. Bissell Park has a new playground just completed last winter. The walking trail is 1.23 miles, open year round, and is lighted until midnight each night. The trail goes by the Friendship Bell, which is a traditional Japanese bell with a striker. The Secret City Commemorative Walk--a memorial to participants in the Manhattan Project who also built the city of Oak Ridge-is located at the other end of the park. Restrooms are located inside the Civic Center.
